Local Adaptation Workshop for the ReGrow MSc Curriculum Held at Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University
On 23 October 2026, Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University hosted a Local Adaptation Workshop within the framework of the Erasmus+ ReGrow project. The workshop aimed to discuss the alignment of the MSc Curriculum in Precision Agriculture with the Georgian national and institutional context and to gather recommendations for its further refinement.
The workshop was organised as part of WP5 – Adaptation of Curricula to Country-Specific Context (Task T5.3), specifically under Activity 5.3.2 – Facilitation of Local Adaptation Workshops. The session was facilitated by Associate Professor Ketevan Lataria, Head of the Quality Assurance Office at Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University.
The event brought together representatives of Georgian partner higher education institutions involved in the project, as well as representatives of Georgian partner organisations connected with the agricultural sector and the labour market.
The discussions focused on the suitability and applicability of the ReGrow MSc Curriculum in Precision Agriculture within the Georgian educational and institutional context, labour-market requirements, the competencies needed in the agricultural sector, and the importance of practical learning.
Participants exchanged academic and sectoral perspectives on the curriculum, contributing to discussions on how its content could be further developed to address national priorities and practical needs. Taking into account the views of the academic community and recommendations from agricultural-sector stakeholders is essential to ensuring that the programme responds to labour-market demands and equips graduates with relevant knowledge and skills for the modern agricultural sector.
The Local Adaptation Workshop represents an important milestone in the implementation of ReGrow activities in Georgia. It also reinforces cooperation between higher education institutions and the agricultural sector, supporting the development of a Master's programme that reflects both academic standards and the practical needs of the industry.
