  • The program's goal is to provide students with the broad knowledge required for the field of Georgian language and literature, including new aspects of interdisciplinary issues such as the history of Georgian literature and the Georgian literary language, Georgian folklore, linguistics and literary studies, literary events and processes, and the field's main methods and concepts;
  • In addition to the knowledge required for the field, the program aims to enable the Bachelor of Philology to critically understand the theories and principles of the field, bring forward national values along with international cultural events, and reveal national values based on their comparison;
  • By teaching the field to form a person equipped with analytical, critical, and communicative skills, which are important for the development of a knowledge-based modern society.

A graduate of the Georgian philology Bachelor’s educational program can be employed in public, private and non-governmental organizations, including archives, museums, mass media and scientific-research institutions. Also in general educational institutions after mastering the additional education program and successfully passing the teachers' certification exams.
