On December 28, 2022 a psychological counselling center was established at Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State Teaching University within Erasmus+ international project E-PSY (Establishment of Psychological Counselling Centers at Georgian HEIs for Students - E-PSY, N617980-EPP-1-2020-1-G-EPPK2-CBHE-SP). Project started in 2021 and is coordinated by Sokhumi State University.

The American Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan visited Shota Meskhia State Teaching University of Zugdidi in connection with30yearsof diplomatic relations between the United States and Georgia.

On May 3, a meeting of the Rectors of regional universities was held to discuss a "New model of higher education system financing" which is developed with the initiative and financial support of the World Bank.

On April 15, 2022, within Erasmus+ international project RURD (Role of Universities in the Regional Development), training for the academic staff was held at Shota Meskhia State Teaching University. Trainees were the affiliated professors of different educational programmes of the university. Interactive training was conducted by the trainers trained within the project.

On March 14-16, 2022, representatives of Shota Meskhia State Teaching University of Zugdidi participated in a working meeting and training held at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania.

Rectors of the project RURD participant universities shared their experiences and achievements with each other and discussed future plans.

Shota Meskhia State Teaching University hosted the 3-day meetings within erasmus+ international project RURD. Experiences, practices and challenges of the regional universities were the main topics discussed during the meetings. The rectors of the regional universities also listened to the presentations of the European partner universities and discussed future plans.

Shota Meskhia State Teaching University is hosting the 8th international project. Within erasmus+ CBHE project, a consortium meeting is held, which is attended by representatives of partner universities from 4 European countries: Czech Republic, Austria, Lithuania and Spain, as well as 12 Georgian universities.
