The goal of the vocational education program is to prepare a competitive and qualified veterinary technician for the labor market who, within the scope of their authority, will be able to treat animals, respond to diseases and injuries, provide advice to the public and individuals, monitor animals’ conditions after surgery, conduct outpatient treatment, perform technical tasks related to artificial insemination, assist veterinarians in diagnosing animal health problems by collecting radiographs, samples, and other laboratory tests, assist veterinary surgeons, participate in pre-slaughter and post-slaughter processes, and perform other related duties.

A holder of a qualification in Veterinary Medicine may be employed in a veterinary clinic, farm, veterinary pharmacy, zoo, pet shop, animal shelter, veterinary laboratory, consulting center, vivarium, slaughterhouse, meat processing plant, veterinary pharmaceutical or artificial insemination enterprise, and animal raw material processing facility. They may also be self-employed.
